Yesterday I headed over to Little Tokyo with Adrian and Mark for Day 2 of the the 69th Annual Nisei Week Festival. We decided to go that day because it featured the main event, which was the grand parade. Driving around the area was a bitch because of all the closed roads due to the parade route, and finding parking was even more of a bitch. But once we got settled we roamed the color filled streets of Little Tokyo no problem. There were a shitload of people, and a lot of activities going on. Lots of girls in kimonos, a bunch of street vendors, selling gifts and stuff and of course the food vendors, selling delicious Japanese traditional (and non-traditional, as you will see later) foods and snacks. Nothing else much to say again, I'll let the pictures do the talking.
1st part of the parade featured Japanese war veterans driving around with armed machine-gunned Jeeps to shoot at onlooking parade attendees.
Nisei Week is also a place for cosplayers alike to dress up as characters from games and anime and such. See anybody familiar?
